Currently, suppliers of these minerals are required to mine the earth to extract the minerals; the mineral generally contains many impurities such as silica, which is just one of the unwanted impurities. Magnesium carbonate with purity higher than 95% is extremely difficult to be mined traditionally.
The mined minerals then require crushing to reduce them into workable size (a costly exercise). Refining is then needed to attain required purity, these refining costs are significant. However, due to the purity of minerals produced as a result of GSA technology, crushing costs are eliminated and refining costs are significantly avoided.
This is due to three crucial elements:

But perhaps the most obvious difference is that once the mineral (that has been mined traditionally) is heated (an essential step for the majority of uses for these types of minerals) CO2 is released into the atmosphere; it is argued that this release of CO2 contributes to Global Warming.
In contrast, the mineral produced through the Greensols technology has already extracted, captured and stored atmospheric CO2 in this very mineral. This means that if the mineral supplied by Greensols is heated during production then any CO2 which is released, is CO2 that has already been taken out of the atmosphere during the formation of the mineral; thus making it CO2 neutral.
